Big Clouds

Lots of clouds moving through the sky today.  It was an odd day, we had a little sunshine, a little rain, some sleet, and even some snow fall.  Sure made for a pretty sky though.  I'm surprised we didn't see a rainbow.

Way Back When

There is a little old cabin across the street.  It's been vacant since long before we moved here 10 years ago.  Every now and then, I like to venture in, and imagine who might have lived there.  Was it just a little hunting cabin, or did someone actually reside there on a regular basis?  Behind the cabin there are two buildings that have long since fallen down, leaving the little old cabin all by itself.  Within the cabin sits an old table, an old couch, an old bed frame, and several small odds and ends such as these tins shown above.

Stained Glass

I am going to be making a mosaic stepping stone for my garden when spring comes.  In the meantime, I've been collecting broken pieces of stained glass, broken pieces of tile and ceramic plates, and other odds and ends, to complete the project with.  Here's a few pieces of broken stained glass.  I love all the pretty colors and textures!

Dryer Lint Balls

Our dryer quit on us today.  When my husband disassembled it to see if it was fixable, we found these behind the barrel, perfectly shaped little spheres of various sizes.  Quite odd, but also quite curious.  Playing around with them, my daughter and I made a miniature solar system out of them using a tangerine as the sun. Neat aren't they?  

R.I.P. Cheyenne

Today I will remember our precious family dog, Cheyenne.  She passed away early this morning, succumbing to cancer.  We will truly miss her.

All Dressed Up

My daughter and her friends were playing dress up with our puppy using her doll clothes.  Not the best quality pic, but cute none-the-less.

Sunrise Over Paradise

I went on a weekend getaway to the Upper Peninsula last summer.  The first night we were there we stayed in the little town of Paradise.  I was lucky to be up at sunrise to catch the sun coming up over Whitefish Bay, which is a part of Lake Superior, and not too far from where the Edmund Fitzgerald sank.

The Monarch

I love Monarch butterflies.  So peaceful and so graceful.  We have tons of milkweed around our home, so I am never lacking in opportunities to photograph them.  

I Got The Blues

I love blue skies on winter days!

Neo

This is my dog Neo.  He is very hard to photograph because he is so full of energy.  I was lucky to catch this one after we had been playing with the ball.

Sunshine For A Rainy Day

It will be several months before we get to see any sunflowers in bloom, so I thought this would be a nice reminder of warm days on this rainy and snowy winters day.

Winter Gray

After a recent snowfall, we then got some rain and warm temperatures.  That led to fog which gave me the perfect opportunity to capture this picture while I was out tooling around on one of our snowmobiles.

Old Barn

I live near this old barn and have watched it deteriorate over the years.  I have several pictures of it and plan to make a collage someday.
