Sky Watch Friday

My daughter pointed this out during a walk last week. She says it looks like an angel fish..

Jack-O-Lanterns

These are the pumpkins that my family and I carved this year. The first one was a quickie one done by me. The second one, the ghost, was done by my 11 year old son. The creepy guy was the one I took my time on, and Frank was carved for my daughter, by my husband.

Going Down

I was finally able to fill up my tank for under $40 yesterday. The prices are coming down, but how long will they stay there?

Sky Watch Friday

On my way to get inventory for my book store, I came across this rainbow and just had to catch a shot. Unfortunately, my photography hobby made me late to the book sale.

Here is a photo of a two track trail that I captured last weekend while I was out taking autumn themed photographs.

The Apple of My Eye

We took a trip to Knaebe's Apple Farm over the weekend. There were not as many apples this year due to a late spring freeze, but the farm was packed anyway. We picked up some cider and donuts for the ride home, but I wish I would've gotten extra, because they tasted so yummy.

Strange Leaf

I took a walk in the woods the other day and noticed this strange leaf. It almost looks as if the smaller brown leaf fell and embedded itself into the bigger green leaf, but upon closer inspection, it looks as though the brown leaf was a growth off the green leaf. Whatever happened, it was an interesting shot.

Misty Morning

I've always wanted to take a picture of this old house, so I finally made a stop last week and took a few shots. This was the best of them. I just love the way the fog gives it an eerie feel.

Mushrooms

I took a walk in the woods yesterday and found loads of mushrooms. I love taking pictures of mushrooms because they are so easy to photograph. Here's a trio that looks like they are straight out of a fairy land.

Under The Bridge

This morning Michael and I set out with the kids with full intentions on going to Knaebe's Apple Farm in Roger's City, but we missed our turn. I was going to turn back but Michael suggested a drive up to Mackinaw City since it was such a beautiful day. I love going to Mackinaw City and since the height of tourist season is over, it was on to Mackinaw we went. I have always wanted to catch a photo of a freighter going under the Mackinac Bridge, but the timing has always been off. Well, today, as soon as we pulled into the park near the bridge, I finally got my chance. Unfortunately, the quality of the photo is not the greatest, but the timing was almost perfect...

A Tribute To My Grandpa

My grandma planted these hens and chicks in this boot, which belonged to my grandpa, years ago. I think it was before he passed away on June 11, 1991, but I am not certain. My grandma gave the hens and chicks boot to my aunt a few years after, then my aunt added the sign as a tribute. This boot has been around for a long time, so I am surprised it and it's inhabitants have held up for so long.

Written In Sand

A little message from my daughter. She wrote this in the sand on a Lake Superior beach this past June.
